Who´s CHIMI?
READY FOR THE TRUTH?

MAKE IT COUNT.
CHIMI / ABOUT
Chimi’s paintings emerge in layers.
Chimi works with acrylic, metal and time.
Applying layers, painting over, allowing oxidation, enclosing, revealing again.
Some things disappear forever. Others return transformed—like a face after a few years.
Chimi is studying for a Master of Fine Arts at Central Saint Martins, London, and is beginning an experiment.
Chimi reveals no face,
no gender, no age.
There is no personality or biography to buy into. The intention is not to create a fictional identity, but to remove identity from the work.
A Buddhist blessing cord or blessed rice is incorporated into each work—something received becomes part of something new.
Everything carries something of what came before.
Something is received, gains in value and passes something on.
It is about time. Ageing. Transformation.
And about the moment, the here and now, when everything falls into place.

PRICING BY TIME
Every image carries a blessing.
Every blessing multiplies in its value.
Buddhist blessing thread or grains of rice received in connection with a blessing or initiation. You are not buying the artwork.
You are a part of CHIMIS Evolution. When a work exceeds the auction record of the highest-priced living female artist, something previously hidden will be revealed.

THE VALUE
VALUE
With each sale, the price of the next work increases according to a fixed formula: each subsequent work costs 15% more than the last one sold.
To acquire a work is also to become part of the story of the next painting. What is sold carries a blessing. What gains in value passes something on and sets something in motion. The blessing multiplies.
A portion of the proceeds goes to a place in need of rebuilding. Currently, it supports the construction of the Karma Chokhor Dechen Ling nunnery in Rumtek, Sikkim.
THRESHOLD
The starting point is the historical price gap between works by men and women in the art market. CHIMI sets a threshold: the verified auction record for a work by a living female artist. Once this threshold is crossed, something previously hidden becomes visible.
